This 2-hour course is designed to develop knowledge, skills and confidence in taking a sexual health history. A 3-hour mini-audit activity is also available.

Course overview
The introduction to sexual history taking course is a 2-hour self-paced online learning course. This course is suitable for health practitioners looking to increase their knowledge, skills and confidence in taking a sexual health history. The course includes interactive learning modules on how to take a sexual health history as well as an adolescent health module on young people, sex and the law. There is also a mini-audit activity on taking a sexual health history available.

- A video presentation on how to take a sexual health history
- A video demonstration of a doctor taking a sexual history from a young person.

- The affirmative consent model law

Eligibility
- This course is open to doctors, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, enrolled nurses and midwives. Training may be considered for other health care professionals, including Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Health Practitioners.

- This activity is currently awaiting approval as an RACGP CPD Accredited Activity. Currently course participants can self-claim for 1.5 hours Educational Activity, 0.5 hours Reviewing Performance and 3 hours Measuring Outcomes if the mini-audit is completed.
